Grands Jours de Bourgogne
Rescheduled for 15-19 March 2021
The board of directors of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne convened on 31 March and took the decision to reschedule the 2020 edition of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne for 15-19 March 2021. The 2020 edition had been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the organizers decided it would be unwise to bring together some 3,000 people from 53 territories while the virus was gaining ground.
Following the decision taken on 2 March to suspend the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, which was set to run on 9-13 March, the organizing body received many messages of support. This feedback encouraged Raphaël Dubois, President of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, and all the winegrowers involved in organizing the event to reschedule this key industry event that is held in the heart of the Bourgogne terroir.

This exceptional land that is Bourgogne has
always faced adversity head on and is ready for
this new challenge. Raphaël Dubois explains:
“After studying the various possibilities for rescheduling, and taking various logistical, financial, and scheduling constraints into account, postponing the event by one year seemed to be the most realistic decision to take.”
“Our loyal partners, including the Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB), the Regional Council of Bourgogne-Franche- Comté, the Departmental Councils of the Côte-d’Or, the Saône-et-Loire, and the Yonne, and our sponsor, the Crédit Mutuel bank, have guaranteed their support to make the event happen in 2021. We hope that our partners who supply glasses, namely Schott-Zwiesel, Verreries de Bourgogne, and Espace Réception will also be involved,” he said.
Similarly, local winegrowers’ management bodies, who are responsible for organizing the 12 tastings, have also confirmed their approval for the postponement to 15-19 March 2021. “Their role is key to ensuring the success of this commercial and convivial event, as is that of the many volunteers, employees of our different structures and service providers.”

The event will take place just after ProWein 2021, allowing visitors to attend the events one after the other.
The Grands Jours de Bourgogne will then return to the biennial format, with the subsequent edition taking place in 2023.
